چکیده

Rumen microbiota intervention has long been used to cure ruminal indigestion in production and recently become a research hotspot. However, how it controls the remodeling of rumen bacterial homeostasis restoration fermentation cows subacute acidosis (SARA) remains poorly understood. This study explored changes communities SARA following content transplantation (RCT). The entire experiment comprised 2 periods: induction period RCT period. During period, 12 ruminally cannulated lactating Holstein were selected allocated into groups at random, fed either conventional diet [CON; n = 4; 40% concentrate, dry matter (DM) basis] or high-grain (HG; 8; 60% DM basis). After began. HG randomly divided groups: donor-recipient (DR) group self-recipient (SR) group, their contents removed completely before RCT. For DR received 70% from CON cows, paired based on comparable body weight; for SR each cow content, self-derived. results showed that nearly all parameters returned normal levels had after 6 d transplantation, regardless concentrations acetate, valerate, total volatile fatty acids (VFA) not recovered whereas them cows. amplicon sequencing indicated both rebuild quickly within 4 RCT, higher level community diversity. At genus level, displayed an improved proportion unclassified Ruminococcaceae Saccharofermentans compared with Correlation analysis between bacteria suggested some potential relationships predominant transplantation-sensitive operational taxonomic units VFA. Co-occurrence network revealed affected only those taxa weak interactions other did affect pivotal high co-occurrence. Our findings indicate contributes suffering without affecting core microbiome.

pH dynamics and bacterial community composition in the rumen of lactating dairy cows.

The influence of pH dynamics on ruminal bacterial community composition was studied in 8 ruminally cannulated Holstein cows fitted with indwelling electrodes that recorded pH at 10-min intervals over a 54-h period. Cows were fed a silage-based total mixed ration supplemented with monensin. Ruminal samples were collected each day just before feeding and at 3 and 6h after feeding. Solid and liqui...

Effect of dietary forage sources on rumen microbiota, rumen fermentation and biogenic amines in dairy cows.

BACKGROUND Fifteen lactating Holstein dairy cows were assigned to three diets in a 3 × 3 Latin square design to evaluate the effects of dietary forage sources on rumen microbiota, rumen fermentation and biogenic amines. Diets were isonitrogenous and isocaloric, with a forage/concentrate ratio of 45:55 (dry matter basis) but different main forage sources, namely cornstalk (CS), Leymus chinensis ...

Methane Production in Dairy Cows Correlates with Rumen Methanogenic and Bacterial Community Structure

Methane (CH4) is produced as an end product from feed fermentation in the rumen. Yield of CH4 varies between individuals despite identical feeding conditions. To get a better understanding of factors behind the individual variation, 73 dairy cows given the same feed but differing in CH4 emissions were investigated with focus on fiber digestion, fermentation end products and bacterial and archae...

Mechanisms of Acid Absorption in the Rumen and Impacts on Subacute Rumen Acidosis

A distinguishing feature of ruminants is that they rely on anaerobic fermentation of feeds in the rumen and reticulum (collectively termed the reticulo-rumen) to supply metabolizable energy in the form of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) and metabolizable protein in the form of microbial protein. While the production of SCFA is a nutritionally desired effect, excessive rates of SCFA production an...

Shifts in bacterial community composition in the rumen of lactating dairy cows under milk fat-depressing conditions.

Eighteen ruminally cannulated dairy cattle were fed a series of diets (in 28-d periods) designed to elicit different degrees of milk fat depression (MFD) for the purpose of relating MFD to ruminal bacterial populations. Cows were fed a TMR containing 25% starch (DM basis) supplied as corn silage, a slowly fermented starch (SFS treatment, period 1), then switched to a TMR containing 27% starch, ...
